What Makes Meraki Healthcare Different?

We are a trauma-responsive team, meaning we go beyond being trauma-informed. We are actively creating a culture that responds to the effects of trauma in individuals by creating an atmosphere of growth and healing for our team and our clients.

What does that look like?

  • Everybody has a voice in how we operate the clinic, and there are scheduled opportunities to share ideas and concerns.

  • We have team meetings, regular supervision, safety plans, and self-care practices to improve emotional, psychological, social, and moral safety for all team members.

  • We foster growth and change by providing opportunities and funding for professional learning.

  • We encourage feedback and honest communication from team members and clients to increase felt safety and improve our practice.

  • We ask all team members to take responsibility for the impact their emotions and behaviors have on our clinic community to keep the clinic culture safe.

  • We recognize that mistakes are part of the human experience, so we stay curious when there are issues. We take a humble, solution-focused approach when we need to correct and improve as team members and as a clinic.

  • We respect that everybody has their own feelings. We also ask that our community members take responsibility for their behaviors by acknowledging their feelings and having a plan to address them in a healthy, non-violent way.

  • We stay curious, invite, encourage, persuade, and educate because bullying, accusing, coercion, force, criticizing, blaming, and punishing cause fear and additional trauma.

  • We bravely welcome growth and change because we know the dangers of stagnation that limit our potential. We embrace grief and loss as we develop new ways of thinking.
